Looking for wise advice from experienced appraisers. About ready to commit to the long road of becoming a MAI appraiser. For all of you already there, does the future look good for someone just starting out with the goal of MAI? Earning potential? Its a long road, and alot of education beyond your four year degree. It is pretty much like getting a masters. Is the road worth it? Any thoughts?

Rod Wycoff Tells it like it is about the Appraisal Institute. "For anyone serious about a career in the appraisal of income producing properties, the MAI designation is the way to go. Yes it's a lot of work to go through the process and yes the dues are now over $1,000 per year, but at the end of the day your earnings and increased knowledge more than compensate for the pain and extra expense. " Does not sound like the legitimate objectives of a Tax Exempt Corp. to me!!!!!!!
Any tax folks out there?
