Now there is one part of our history that is being concealed for hundreds of years.But beleive me readers the truth always prevail and that is what I am going to reveal here after a thorough investigation.
Before Pedrodacintra and his cohorts embarked on the journey which took them to that part of west Africa which they claimed to have discovered in 1462,there already existed a place called ROKIAMP which turned out to be the present day FREETOWN.ROKIAMP was successively ruled and administered by temne chiefs who were the founders and guardians.
When Pedrodacintra and his entourage arrived at ROKIAMP they were welcomed by the chief and given a VIP treatment.Pedrodacintra introduced himself as someone seeking friends who can benefit from the white man.They promised to develop ROKIAMP to international standards and that it will be a great and powerful country in that part of the world.A deal was reached where the chief allowed Pedrdacintra to tell the world that he discovered Salone in exchange for the fulfilment of his promises.
Before the entourage left the chief deicded to impress them such that ROKIAMP will forever remain in their hearts.There was a big feast.The chief sought the services of other groups besides the temnes and they responded very well and did not let their leader down.The sherbros famous for their fishing skills provided the best fish,the lokkos famous for their horticultural skills provided potatoe and cassava leaves while the limba who were renowned palm wine tappers provided palm wine.There was a procession of bondo girls as well as the poro society.Pedrodacintra was so impressed that he gave guns,gun powder and other ammunitions to the chief as gifts.
During such period the mendes were roaming and fighting in a bid to conquer many lands to establish mendeland.On hearing about the rapport between Pedrodacintra and the chief of ROKIAMP,the mendes got some ideas.They thought if they could conquer ROKIAMP they will have the opportunity to grab all the good things the white man will bring.The mendes launch an attack from the sea but were not only repelled by the combined forces of the temnes,limbas and lokkos but were severely beaten to submission.Their leader begged to be allowed to stay at ROKIAMP as they were not willing to go back where they came from.Out of sympathy, the temne chief promised them a stay if only they go inland which turned out to be the southern part of present day Salone.
A lot of things happened which will be too long to discuss here.
The point I am trying to impress here is that with tribalism aside, the reality is, the temnes,limbas,sherbros and lokkos are the original Saloneans while the mendes came many ,many years after these tribes.With election of EBK to the state house,power has returned to the original rulers of Salone which started as ROKIAMP.
If the mendes are original Saloneans they would not have elected a guinean in disguise in the form of Tejan Kabba who gave away part of our land to his country of orign,Guinea.
Now I am waiting for the salvoes of tomahawk missiles from those who will feel offended.I am ready with my anti-missile defense system.
