Julian:

Of the individuals I have encountered, feeding schedules run the gamut from six times a year to every 5th day.

Personally I have become a believer in the less often is more philosophy. I begin by feeding neonates pink rats once every 10 to 14 days. I change this right around the age of two and begin a 21 day schedule of rat pups. Finally at three years of age and when they transition from tubs to adult enclosures, I move to small rats on a 30 day schedule. I have not fed mice in 20 years.

I never violate the 3 feeding rule. Just as there are no atheists in foxholes, so it is that no one who has ever had an animal prolapse is likely to violate the 3 pump to dump rule.
