One of my Northerns and my Basin male do this once in a while. I have alot of Pothos plants in the bottom of the cage which probably makes them feel
secure. I always check the temps carefully when they do this to make sure its not too hot on their perch but that has never been the case. as long as they actively hunt and hang at night I don't mind.
still I suggest you check your temperature gradient well.
